The method involves using a rotation speed sensor of an unsigned wheel formed by an assembly of elementary sensors according to an angular distribution leading to spacing irregularities between the sensors. Real-time irregularities are estimated, and a rotation direction of the wheel is determined during which the irregularities are compared with reference irregularities of the sensor according to average speed of a vehicle. The reference irregularities are determined in a factory/rolling turns with knowledge of displacement direction of the wheel, and are safeguarded at end of determination. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for determining a displacement direction of a car (2) a system for detecting a rotation direction of a wheel (3) a system for determining a displacement direction of a car.
