Canopy reinforcement for attachment in an area near each of the two opposite ends of the canopy (2) and the lower edge (3a) of the windshield of a motor vehicle to improve the ability of the vehicle to absorbing the energy of a frontal impact, characterized in that said reinforcement is constituted by an elongated piece (1) of metal or light alloy having at its two opposite ends means for fixing said part (1) in said vehicle area this piece (1) being able to absorb a part of the energy of a frontal impact, when it is fixed in said zone.
