The invention relates to a computer system comprising a processor; and a memory system having one or more computer readable media on which are stored instructions which, when executed by the processor, are configured to cause the computer system to perform operations. The operations include the steps of: breaking down a domain of a basin model to give a first plurality of meshes having a permeability lower than a threshold value and a second plurality of meshes having a permeability greater than the threshold value; performing a Darcy flow algorithm to analyze a relatively slow migration starting in the first plurality of meshes; and performing an invasion percolation algorithm to analyze a relatively faster migration starting in the second plurality of meshes.
