Optical absorption spectrometry system including dichroic beam combiner and splitter

An optical absorption spectrometry system 100 comprises a first light source 111 emitting first light 113 having first wavelengths within a first wavelength range, and a second light source 112 emitting second light 114 having second wavelengths within a second different wavelength range. A dichroic beam combiner 115 transmits a first portion of the first light and reflects a second portion of the second light to provide combined light 116. A wavelength selective module 120 disperses the combined light 116 received at an entrance aperture, to select a sample wavelength range as sample light 123, and to output the sample light 123 from an exit aperture for illuminating a sample 140. A detection module 130 may receive the measurement light 143 having passed through the sample and includes a dichroic beam splitter 135 which transmits a portion of the measurement light to a first photo-detector 131 and reflects another portion to a second photo-detector 132.
