The invention relates to the field of chemistry, and more particularly to a powdered polymer composition for a superhydrophobic coating and a method for producing such a coating. The composition contains a base in the form of a powdered thermosetting composition with an epoxy polyester, epoxy, polyester or polyurethane film-forming agent, and additionally contains a modifier in the form of hydrophobic particles of a surface-modifying and texturing component with particle sizes from 5 nm to 35 µm, in the following ratio: 95-99.5 wt% base; 0.5-5 wt% modifier. The method for producing a coating involves applying the above-mentioned composition to a surface and curing the applied coating by heating at a temperature of 180-190°C for 15-20 minutes. If necessary, a second layer containing micro- and nano-sized hydrophobic particles is applied to the uncured layer of composition. The invention provides a superhydrophobic coating with improved reliability and durability.
