The method involves causing control movement for rotor seals by rod bodies (13, 14), that is provided in a control device (10), where the control movement for the seal is caused depending on a temperature change of a gas flow. The rod bodies are section-wise arranged in chambers. The rod bodies are separately and heat-exhangeably controlled by the respective chambers by a control medium such that different temperature loadings are provided for the rod bodies. An independent claim is also included for a thermally controlled control device for a regenerative heat exchanger for adjusting a sealing gap between an adjustable seal and a circulating rotor.
