The object of the present invention is to provide a relief printing plate precursor for laser engraving that has high ink resistance toward both an aqueous ink and a solvent ink and that is excellent in terms of engraving sensitivity, a process for producing same, and a resin composition for laser engraving that can suitably be used for such a printing plate precursor. The resin composition for laser engraving of the present invention includes (Component A) a compound that has a crosslinkable group and that is a plastomer at 20°C and (Component B) a crosslinking agent, Component A and Component B having a (meth)acryloyl group as a crosslinkable group, and at least one of Component A and Component B having an ionic group.
