PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems, methods, and an apparatus for an improved data bus-in-a-box (BiB).SOLUTION: A system 200 includes: an electrical box; at least one optical connector 220; at least one mother board 240 housed inside of the box and comprising a transmit side having at least one transmit optical media converter (OMC) tile and a receive side having at least one receive OMC tile; first receive optical fibers 270a that are each connected from at least one receive OMC tile 250a to a receive coupler 260a; a second receive optical fiber 280a connected from the receive coupler 260a to one of the optical connectors 220; first transmit optical fibers 270b that are each connected from at least one transmit OMC tile 250b to a transmit coupler 260b; and a second transmit optical fiber 280b connected from the transmit coupler 260b to at least one of the optical connectors 220.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
