PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery charger for a portable gas detector capable of simplifying connection work of the battery charger for the portable gas detector and a structure when connected.SOLUTION: A battery charger 1 for a portable gas detector comprises: a first engagement part 27 (second engagement part 30); and an elastically deformable first tabular terminal 29 (second tabular terminal 31) disposed in one side part 21 (another side part 22) where the first engagement part 27 (second engagement part 30) is provided. In a state where the first engagement part 27 (second engagement part 30) of a battery charger body 2 and a second engagement part 30 (first engagement part 27) of another battery charger body 2a (2b) are engaged with each other, the battery charger body 2 is vertically slid relatively to the other battery charger body 2a (2b). The first tabular terminal 29 (second tabular terminal 31) of the battery charger body 2 is abutted in a horizontal direction to a second tabular terminal 31 (first tabular terminal 29) of the other battery charger body 2a (2b) while being elastically deformed, and the battery charger is connected to another battery charger 1a (1b) while being neighboring to the other battery charger in a horizontal direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
