CONSTITUTION: A communication system 10 includes a robot 12 and a server 20. The robot specifies an article (X) indicated by a user. The server, according to a request from the robot, generates a facing action for confirming the article that has been specified as well as a speech content. Further, the server, when required, generates a pointing action for confirming the specified article. For example, the pointing action is generated according to, at least, whether or not there is one or more other articles (24) in an indicated range F by the facing action.EFFECT: Since a robot is made to perform a pointing action only when it is required, the pointing action is effectively used for effective performance of confirming behavior.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
