PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet image recording apparatus of a line type capable of reducing consumption of ink and sheet.;SOLUTION: A recording head 41A discharges ink drops on a glass plate 52A from nozzles. A line sensor 51A obtains gradation data of the ink drop image deposited on the glass plate 52A in the sensor arrangement direction in the line sensor 51A. A control section 54A determines whether the obtained gradation data of the ink drop image is higher than a set threshold. The control section 54A determines that it is a normal nozzle when determining that the gradation data of the ink drop image is higher than the set threshold, and determines that it is an abnormal nozzle when determining that the gradation data of the ink drop image is equal to or less than the set threshold. When the control section 54A determines that the nozzle is abnormal, the control section 54A stores the nozzle.
