Interactive segmentation framework in 3D dental CT volumetric data, the user is able to segment the whole dental area or individual teeth in accordance with the type of user input. Graph cut based interactive segmentation utilizes scribble user, the scribble is collected into a plurality of 2D representative CT slices on, it is extended on CT slices. Then, based on the expansion scribble, 3D distance transformation is applied to the entire CT volume. Before sending the 3D CT raw image data in graph cut pipeline is added bone tissue augmentation. Segmented tooth section can be utilized directly in order to reconstruct a 3D virtual teeth model.
