PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of producing a high-quality clad steel sheet excellent in flatness and uniformity of surface layer hardness without deteriorating productivity even if accelerated cooling is carried out after hot rolling in order to obtain the effect of preventing crack due to precipitation of a cladding material carbide or the effect of improving the mechanical characteristics of a base material in production of the clad steel sheet using a sandwich-type assembling material as a material to be rolled.SOLUTION: A method for production of a clad steel sheet using a sandwich-type assembling material as a material to be rolled comprises: a heating process of heating the material to be rolled; a hot rolling process of hot-rolling the heated material; an accelerated cooling process of cooling the hot-rolled material at gathering speed; and a high-frequency induction heating process of heating the cooled material by high-frequency induction heating. The high-frequency induction heating process is characterized by heating so that the maximum temperature difference between the surface layer of the material and a sheet thickness center part during high-frequency induction heating is 50°C or higher but 300°C or lower.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
