PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a depth value restoration method.SOLUTION: A method is configured to include: performing image pre-processing to a color image corresponding to a simultaneously acquired depth image; acquiring a candidate target area including a foreground image in the depth image and the color image; determining whether to perform area extension processing to the candidate target area on the basis of an area ratio of a void depth area on the depth image and the candidate target area; performing the area extension processing to the candidate target area on the basis of image information on the depth image and the color image when it is determined that it is necessary to perform the area extension processing to the candidate target area; and performing depth data restoration processing to a candidate area on the basis of the image information on the depth image and the color image as to the candidate target area extended after performing the area extension processing to the candidate target area.
