PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for truck/bus tire, capable of improving in good balance the fuel economy, abrasion resistance and mechanical rubber strength of a truck/bus tire, and to provide such a truck/bus tire made using the composition.SOLUTION: A rubber composition for truck/bus tire comprising: a rubber component; and silica (1) and silica (2) having a specific nitrogen adsorption specific surface area each, is provided. In this composition, in 100 mass% of the rubber composition, the content of a conjugated diene polymer having conjugated diene-based constituent unit and constituent unit of formula (I) with at least one end of the polymer modified by a specific compound is 5 mass% or more; the total content of the silica (1) and silica (2), based on the 100 pts.mass of the rubber component, is 5-150 pts.mass; and the respective contents of the silica (1) and silica (2) meet the following relationship: (silica (1) content)×0.2≤(silica (2) content)≤(silica (1) content)×6.5.
