PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability of an elevator which is remotely monitored.SOLUTION: A remote monitoring support device 120 is configured such that the device 120 measures a travel time from detecting a cage 102 of an elevator 101 starting to travel until detecting the cage 102 stopping traveling on the basis of signals output from a control board 110 that controls operation of the elevator 101, determines the number of floors passed by the cage 102 on the basis of the measured travel time, then calculates a travel distance of the cage 102 on the basis of the determined number of floors and a linear measure for one floor of the building in which the elevator 101 is installed, and stores the calculated travel distance in a storage unit. When the device 120 receives a diagnostic instruction to transmit information on a state of the elevator 101 from a control server computer 130, the device 120 transmits information on the travel distance stored in the storage unit to the control server computer 130.
