PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems for example, in research which is an origin of a technical innovation serving as a main point of a product development policy formulation, there are many cases that, articles which are relatively often referred in the corresponding field are extracted, but, the research found by the same method is mainly paid attention by a researcher, and the research is not suitable for formulation of product development policy in a company.;SOLUTION: An analysis method comprises the steps of: extracting articles related to product development, determining an article accumulation number for every year and arranging articles in time series, then using a least squares method for approximating by a logistic expression so that a determination coefficient becomes 0.9 or higher; performing second order differential to the logistic expression, for calculating a second order differential value for every year, then determining that a period in which, a value of 7-17 is acquired first is a period in which research which is the origin of technical innovation appeared, when the second order differential values are followed up in an order of old year; and extracting research of the article which is referred most frequently, in the period, as research which becomes the origin of the technical innovation in optional product development.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT
