PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recovery method of a methane fermentation tank in the state where activity of methanogen is lowered to stop biogas generation, and methane fermentation activity is deactivated.SOLUTION: A recovery method of a methane fermentation tank in which methane fermentation activity is in the deactivated state in the methane fermentation tank for generating biogas by subjecting organic waste to methane fermentation includes a fat decomposition step in which a fat decomposing material for separating a fatty acid from the fat and decomposing it by applying to the fat is added to methane fermentation liquid in the deactivated state.
