PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize deviation in the carrier leak suppression characteristics of a coupler of an RFID reader writer device and prevent degradation of communication quality.SOLUTION: An RFID reader writer device comprises: a coupler; a termination circuit terminating one terminal of the coupler for impedance matching; a carrier leak monitor circuit measuring a carrier leak amount from a modulation/transmission unit to a reception/demodulation unit of the coupler; and impedance adjustment means adjusting an impedance of the termination circuit so as to minimize the carrier leak amount, the transmission/modulation unit performing modulation of an RFID read command on a carrier if the impedance adjustment means adjusts the impedance of the termination means so as to minimize the carrier leak amount. With this configuration, even if the impedance of an antenna changes, an increase in the carrier leak amount of the coupler of the RFID reader writer device can be minimized and it is, therefore, possible to prevent a degradation of a communication quality such as an RFID reading rate.
