PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a push-pull type ventilator which, even when an exhaust port is provided on a back side surface of a pull hood, can discharge a harmful gas on a work space to the outside of the ventilator without diffusion and further can easily be installed and moved.SOLUTION: The problem can be solved as follows. The push-pull type ventilator includes an upper push hood 3 which feeds a laminar flow 2, a lower pull hood 7 which is located below the upper push hood 3 and has a front surface 7a serving as a work space 4 and a suction port 5 on a front surface 7a and an exhaust port 6 on a back surface 7b, and a wall surface support 8 which is interposed between the lower pull hood 7 and the upper push hood 3 and supports the upper push hood 3. A partition 9 is interposed between the suction port 5 in the front surface 7a of the lower pull hood 7 and the exhaust port 6 of the back surface 7b. A ventilation opening 10 is provided in a partition 9 located at a portion hanging from the work space 4. The shortest distance (L) between a peripheral edge 4A of the work space 4 and a peripheral edge 10A in the ventilation opening 10 is made identical for even ventilation resistance even and the suction wind speed around the suction port 5 is made even and higher than o equal to a set speed.
