This present invention relates to modified release pharmaceutical composition comprising Desvenlafaxine, one or more release modifying agent(s) and one or more pharmaceutically acceptable excipient(s) thereof. More particularly, the invention relates to modified release pharmaceutical compositions comprising Desvenlafaxine Benzoate and a process for preparation thereof. Further, the invention relates to a modified release pharmaceutical composition comprising Desvenlafaxine Benzoate, one or more release modifying agent(s) and one or more pharmaceutically acceptable excipient(s) thereof wherein C max and AUC of the modified release composition are independent of food effect.
