APPARATUS FOR SUPPLYING REELS TO WINDING ROLLERS FOR PRODUCTION OF A WOUND ROLL, FOR EXAMPLE AT A SLIVER WINDER

In an apparatus for supplying reels to winding rollers for production of a wound roll of fibre material, for example at a sliver winder, especially before a combing machine, wherein empty reels are held in reserve (store) and, after changing of the roll being wound, a reel is introduced into the cleft-shaped space formed by the envelope surfaces of the winding rollers, an apparatus is provided for bringing in the reel from the store. In order to make it possible, by means that are simple in terms of construction, to introduce the empty reel into the cleft-shaped space rapidly and reliably, the store is arranged to the side of the winding rollers, and a reel is in each case arranged to be introduced into the cleft-shaped space from the side at the level of the cleft-shaped space.
