SMART CONFIGURABLE DISCRETE INPUT ACQUISITION MODULE FOR AIRBORNE SYSTEM

Airborne systems are required to capture several types of discrete inputs. The number of discrete inputs and their types, varies from platform, to platform. Conventionally all airborne systems discrete data acquisition circuits are custom designed sp ecific to one platform. Due to these custom designed circuits the system used in one platform can never be used for other platform. A new c ircuit has been designed to make the system adoptable across the platform. The concept of configurable design is implemented in the discrete input circuit. This configurability is achieved through combination of software and hardware. To enhance the reliability of the circuit health monitoring feature is also added in the new circuit.
