A COMMUNICATION DEVICE FOR PEOPLE WITH SPEECH AND LANGUAGE IMPAIRMENT

ABSTRACT According an aspect of the present disclosure, the communication device for assisting speech and language impaired comprises a display, an input device and a speaker. Display is configured to display pictures relevant to the communication needs of the speech and language impaired, and an input device is configured to receive a selection of at least one of the pictures and a speaker is configured to play a voice message corresponding to the selected picture. In one embodiment, the input device is configured to receive a text message and the speaker is further configured to play a voice message derived from the text message. In another embodiment, the device comprises of a text to speech synthesizer synthesizing at least one of the text message or a pre-stored text message, wherein the pre-stored text message corresponds to the selected picture. Further, the device comprises a container to hold medicine. In yet another embodiment, the device comprises a language translator configured to translate the text message from a first language to the second language, wherein the synthesizer synthesizes the text into the second language.
