摘要

The present invention pertains to the plant biotechnology field. The invention particularly refers to system for improving plant species in vitro. More particularly, the invention describes a system for genetically improving in vitro homosporous ferns, which includes a method for inducing the sexual differentiation, performing the gametophytes crossing and selection and an arrangement of devices for handling gametophytes and the induction of crossed fertilization of different improving lines. The purpose of the genetic improving system of the present invention is to obtain, in vitro, fern plants with homogeneous and stable genetic capacities for one or a plurality of desired characteristics, which increase its utility as ornate plants, or species of industrial or environmental interest. The process of the present invention supplies fern plants at an industrial level, useful for simultaneously removing two or more heavy metals from the environment.
