The present disclosure is related to a device for the treatment and performance of improvement and degradation tests in solar cells that comprises: a treatment metal box that includes a halogen lamp and three hollow circular cylinders made from different materials, so that one of said circular cylinders has in its central part, an undercut that allows to hold a substrate to be treated in the device; a fan support allowing the placement and removal of a fan that acts as a cooling element or temperature controller of the treated substrate; an electronic circuit contained in a small plastic cabinet that provides the energy needed for the fan to operate, and a modular support which holds a first, a second and a third data acquisition cards, all of them, fixed on a rectangular base; wherein said first, second and third data acquisition cards in combination with a personal computer, allow TO respectively, to automatically control the on and off switch of the halogen lamp, the automatic con trol of the speed of the fan and, determining by applying the software included in said personal computer and a source-measurement instrument, the time in which the parameters of the solar cell in treatment have been enhanced, or have been degraded, ordering in the latter case, to stop the treatment: Also refers to a method for the application of said device.
