Oligo-guluronate and galacturonate compositions

A pharmaceutical composition comprising (a) a physiologically tolerable oligoguluronate or oligogalacturonate having a number average degree of polymerization in the range of 5 to 18, a guluronate (or galacturonate) (FG) fraction of at least 0.80, a manuronate fraction (FM) of not more than 0.20, and having at least 95 mol% with a degree of polymerization less than 20 and (b) a macromolecular drug having a molecular weight above 2000 Da.
