Methods, apparatuses and systems for identifying overstay of a vehicle (624,644) in a parking space (610, 620, 630, 640, 650, 660) are disclosed herein.The method comprises the steps of detecting the presence of the vehicle in aparking space using a detection apparatus (612, 622, 632, 642, 652, 662),processing and storing data relating to the presence of vehicle in thedetection apparatus, wirelessly (672, 674) waking-up the detection apparatus,wirelessly retrieving at least a portion of the data from the detectionapparatus, and identifying overstay of the vehicle in the parking space basedon the retrieved data. Wireless wake-up of a detection apparatus may beirregularly performed by an occasionally present data collection apparatus(680). Apparatuses and systems are also disclosed for performing the foregoingmethod.
