A mobile system forim-proving the picking and preliminarypro-cessing of apples, citrus, stone fruit and thelike is disclosed and claimed. The systemcomprises a mobile chassis upon which canbe mounted picking stations, pneumatictube transport subsystems, receiving andconveying subsystems, object scanningsubsystems, cull diverter subsystems,label-ing subsystems, and subsystems forrela-tively gently placing the objects in aprede-termined location in a receiving bin. Thesystem can also include a subsystem forgently placing diverted objects in areceiv-ing bin.
