This invention provides a high precision food depositor directly driven by oneor a pluralityof stepper motor-based linear actuators and the method to control them inorder to have repetitivehigh precision food deposits. High precision food deposits are possible due tothe control method ofthe stepper motor driving system that is used to drive the stepper motor-basedlinear actuators. Themain idea behind the controlling method presented by this invention is tocontrol the driving systemof the stepper motor-based linear actuators by combining two types of controlsignals: the steppingpulses and the timing signals. Bycontrolling the frequency of the steppingpulses and the length ofthe timing signals, the speed of the linear actuators and the time that thestepper motors are on canbe controlled. This essentially allows for the piston's displacement to beadjusted as desired.
