Provided is a touchpanel system that can suppress the possibility that a stylus pen would fail to detect a synchronization signal. A touchpanel controller (4) in the touchpanel system generates a preparation signal containing a low state and high state that are the baseline for adjusting the reception sensitivity of a synchronization signal in the stylus pen, and outputs the preparation signal to the touchpanel before the timing at which the synchronization signal is output to the touchpanel.
