The aim of the invention is to increase the efficiency of degenerate four-wave mixing in SOI waveguides. For this purpose, slotted silicon (Si) waveguides which lie on a silicon oxide layer (SiO2) and which are infiltrated with and covered by chalcogenide glasses (e.g. As2S3) are used. In order to increase efficiency, said waveguides were shaped to annular or racetrack resonators. Chalcogenide glasses were chosen due to their high optical third-order nonlinearity (X (3)).
