Disclosed are a system for recommending tourist attractions based on user characteristics and the characteristics of the tourist attractions and a method for same. The system for recommending tourist attractions based on user characteristics and tourist attraction characteristics according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a tourist attraction vector generating unit for calculating characteristic values for multiple tourist attractions defined by each tourist attraction and for generating tourist attraction vectors from the calculated characteristic values; a user vector generating unit for receiving input of selected values for the multiple tourist attraction characteristics from a user and for generating user vectors from the selected values; and a tourist attraction recommending unit for calculating similarity between the tourist attraction vectors and the user vectors and for providing the user with at least one tourist attraction based on the calculated similarity.
