The present invention relates to a nuclear plant protection system and an operating method of the nuclear plant protection system. According to the present invention, the nuclear plant protection system comprises: a platform which determines whether a safety function is executed, based on safety-related data received from the outside and includes a first platform independently determining whether the safety function is executed and a second platform having software different from that of the first platform; and a safety function execution unit which executes a nuclear plant safety function, wherein a safety function execution unit executes the safety function based on a result obtained by performing an OR gate on output signals of the first platform and the second platform.
