The techniques generally described herein relate to the collection of cache removal notifications into a directory. Some exemplary techniques may be used to update the collection table to reflect the removal of a plurality of blocks from a plurality of block addresses of at least one cache memory. A collection message may be generated that specifies the removal of multiple blocks reflected in the collection table. The collection message can be sent to the directory. The directory may parse the collection message and update the plurality of directory entries to reflect removal from the cache memory specified in the collection message.
