The present invention relates to a process for the production of foamed ceramic materials, in which a slip to a liquid foam is foamed mechanically with the aid of a dissolver, the generated liquid foam is subjected to a shaping process, the shaped foam and tied off in a controlled manner is dried and then fired. The invention also relates to a ceramic foam which can be produced by this method.
