The device has a profile drum (3) rotatably driven around a longitudinal axis and comprising an arrangement of guidance bodies (7, 8) that are diagonally aligned to the longitudinal axis of the drum. The arrangement of the guidance bodies outwardly distributes tobacco fibers from the middle. Another profile drum (4) is provided with the diagonally aligned guidance bodies and arranged in transport direction of the tobacco fibers behind the former profile drum. The two profile drums are aligned parallel together, and have outer dimension of 100 mm to 200 mm.
