PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ash accumulation diagnosis system of a fine particle collection device arranged at an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine and constituted by a wall-flow type, and an ash accumulation diagnosis method for the fine particle collection device capable of estimating an accumulated amount of each of plug ash and wall ash even during operation of the internal combustion engine, accurately detecting necessity of a washing process of the fine particle collection device and advising a vehicle operating person to perform this washing process.;SOLUTION: This invention is constituted in such a way that an accumulated amount Vdpa of a plug ash PA is estimated in reference to an internal temperature distribution of a fine particle collection device 2 during PM regeneration control of a fine particle collection device 2, and an amount of accumulation Vdwa of wall ash WA is estimated in reference to a measured value ΔPm of a differential pressure ΔP across the fine particle collection device 2 just after regeneration of PM.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4;COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT
