1/1 summary “method for mitigating precipitation of aluminum and iron in underground formations during acidification operations, and Acidification Trivalent non-chelating agents may be useful in alleviating the formation of aluminum and iron precipitations in underground formations during acidification operations. an acidification operation may include introducing an acidification fluid into a well bore penetrating an underground formation, the acidification comprising an aqueous fluid, an acid source and a trivalent ion chelating agent, for example hydroxamates, 6,7-dihydroxyquinoline, 3-hydroxy-4-pyridinones and any combination of these. In some cases, trivalent ion chelating agents with a pka of less than about 7 may be particularly useful in acidification operations.
