The present invention relates to a synergistic pharmaceutical composition for treating human parasites of mebendazole. (mbdz) with nitazoxanide (ntzx), which significantly broadens the spectrum of mbdz against protozoans and enhances the anthelmintic action of ntzx. In addition, by using the pharmaceutical combination of mbdz and ntzx, the systemic action of the active metabolite of ntzx, tizoxanide, and the treatment of some systemic forms of parasitosis maintains the same effects as individual active principles. Also, the synergistic pharmaceutical combination of mbdz with ntzx achieves a broader antiparasitic spectrum, while maintaining the efficacy and safety profiles of both active ingredients separately. All of these effects allow the pharmaceutical combination of the present invention to differ from the rest of the classical antiparasitic treatments having more limited spectra.
