The method involves determining a setpoint of an aerodynamic torque and a setpoint of a torque of an electric machine to maximize recovered power from measurements of wind speed, rotor speed, and speed of the electric machine. One of the setpoints is modified by subtracting a term proportional to a difference between the measured speed of the rotor and the measured speed of the electric machine. An angle of inclination of blades of a wind turbine to carry out the aerodynamic torque setpoint is determined, and the blades are oriented at the angle of inclination.
