The present invention provides polypeptides containing an Fc region of an antibody that has a deletion of at least one cysteine residue in the hinge region and replaces at least one amino acid on the surface of the CH3 domain with an amino acid residue containing a sulfhydryl group. Also proposed are hybrid Fc proteins and antibodies containing such polypeptides, nucleic acids and vectors encoding said polypeptides, as well as host cells and methods for producing said polypeptides.
