This invention relates to the introduction of new equivalent Twinax Data bus Double shielded cable to replace the parent cable used in Hawk Aircraft. The twinax double shielded data bus cable part number F10613T consists of wire made up of stranded silver plated high strength copper alloy conductor with PTFE taped and fused insulation, round braided shield of silver plated copper wire and PTFE taped and sintered Jacket. The above data bus cable is being used in Communication, Navigation and attack systems of Hawk Aircraft. The imported cable procurement takes longer lead time. The longer lead time leads to delay in production which in turn affects the delivery of the Aircraft. Moreover, we should be self reliant in all areas particularly in the Defense sector which is the immune system of our country. Also to fulfill Make in India concept, it was decided to invent new equivalent twinax databus cable to replace the parent cable used in Hawk Aircraft. The specifications were prepared keeping in mind the requirements of Hawk Aircraft systems, MIL-STD-1553 and MIL-C-17G. The cable was designed & developed and manufactured in coordination with M/s Flu-Tef Industries, Ahmedabad: The cable had undergone all the stringent qualification testing as recommended by the certification agency and met all the specification requirements.
