Gold loaded GO-LDH hybrid were prepared by coprecipitation and Photoreduction method at ambient temperature by taking Cr (NO 3 ) 3 and Zn (NO 3 ) 2 as metal precursors for LDH and HAuCl 4 (1wt. %) as gold sources. The molar ratio of Au-GO-LDH hybride was varied from 1:1:1 to 1:5:1. 1wt. % gold loaded on different wt. % GO-LDH hybride, prepared at 1:3:1 molar ratio showed highest photocatalytic activity such as hydrogen gas evolution (918.76 µmol/2h of H 2 ) and Malachite Green degradation 98% under visible light illumination in 3 h.
