EFFECT OF PONGAMIA PINNATA LINN. LEAVES ON ETHYLENE GLYCOL INDUCED UROLITHIASIS IN RATS

摘要

Present invention provides a composition comprising ethanolic extract of leaves of Pongomia Pinnata having antilithiatic effect. The composition is natural and effectively cures urolithiasis, without side effects. The leaves of the plant were extracted with ethanol and then ethanolic extract of Pongamia pinnata was subjected for phytochemical screening for the detection of various plant constituents it is found that flavonoids and phenolic compounds are present as major active principle.
