Present invention provides specially design and development of a smart water meter responsible for controlling the water supply based on analysis and notification to the users as well as the water management authority or Municipal Corporation. The system checks the purity of the water and alerts the Water Supply and Management Authorities (WSMA) of any contaminations. The smart meter monitors the water consumption per house with the help of sensors providing useful data to Water Supply and Management Authorities. The data from each house is aggregated to get the water usage statistics of the society. This data is then used for careful planning and efficient use of the water reserves. The user is notified about the consumption of the water and alerted if certain threshold value is exceeded. The storage of water at community level is controlled using water level sensor. The proposed system provides consumption analytics for careful and efficient usage. The proposed system is data centric. Information about water usage is available to authorized users of the system. The system has the provision of online billing system which is convenient to the end users. The system detects the Leakages and hence useful in water thefts detection. This system is cost-efficient and also provides better accuracy and precision than traditional mechanical meters. Following invention is described in detail with the help of Figure 1 of sheet 1 showing system overview, Figure 2 of sheet 2 showing web server and Figure 3 of sheet 3 showing user interaction.
