ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a medium carbon Si-Mn series high wear resistant air-cooled steel, wherein the compositions and the weight percentages thereof are as follows: C 0.35%0.45% Si 1.51%2.18%, Mn 1.52%1.99%, Cr 1.13%1.62%, Mo 0.15%0.29%; Al 0.02%0.07% and Nb 0.025%0.10% are further included, and 0.05%Nb+Al0.15%; and the balance is Fe and unavoidable impurities. The high wear resistant air-cooled steel is obtained by smelting, thermo-forming, austenitizing, air cooling and tempering, and has a higher strength, a higher ductility and an excellent wearability index. Meanwhile, quenching processing and subsequent deformation can be avoided, thus cracking is prevented, and cost and resources are saved.
