BIOLOGIC CONTROL METHOD FOR THE PAPAYA RINGSPOT VIRUS, USING THE PAPMV VIRUS.

The present disclosure is related to a biologic control method for the papaya (Carica papaya) ringspot virus caused by the PRSV virus (genus potyvirus). The method involves the use of the PapMV virus (gender potexvirus) and its inoculation as an agrobiological composition in uninfected plants, attenuating the effects of potential co-infection by the PRSV virus. The plant first inoculated with the PapMV virus, presents a resistance response that helps preventing infection by another pathogen. For the first time, resistance response evidence between unrelated viruses is presented.
