The use of 2-(N-(1,1-dimethyl-omega-phenyl-alkyl)-amino)-1-(6-hydroxy-4H-benz-(1,4)-oxazin-3-on-8-yl)-ethanol derivatives (I) for treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is new. The use of benzoxazinonyl-ethanolamine derivatives of formula (I) (including individual optical isomers, enantiomer mixtures and racemates) or their acid addition salts is claimed in the production of medicaments for treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). n = 1 or 2; R1, R2 = H, alkyl, halo, OH or alkoxy; R3 = H, alkyl, OH, halo, alkoxy, carboxyalkoxy or alkoxycarbonylalkoxy; alkyl moieties have 1-4C.
