REMOVAL OF ORGANOPHOSPHORUS PESTICIDES FROM WATER USING ORDERED MESOPOROUS CARBONS DOPED WITH BORON, NITROGEN OR PHOSPHORUS AND THE WATER FILTER THAT USES THESE MATERIALS FOR REMOVAL OF ORGANOPHOSPHORUS PESTICIDES FROM DRINKING WATER
Invention relates to application of ordered mesoporous materials doped with boron, nitrogen or phosphorus as adsorbents for purification of water by removing organophosphorus pesticides (diazinon, dimethoate, malathion and chlorpyrifos, as well as their oxidized forms). Removal of mentioned pesticides is achieved by mixing of ordered mesoporous carbons in powder form with contaminated water or by filtration of water through filters comprising a layer of active material, mesoporous carbons doped with boron, nitrogen or phosphorus. Efficiency of removal is extremely high and typically exceeds 80% at concentrations of pesticide up to three time greater than real. Water samples which were purified by adsorption of organophosphorus pesticides on ordered mesoporous carbons showed decrease or complete absence of the neurotoxic effects which are measured through measuring of enzyme inhibition AChE in in vitro conditions. As described in the invention, application of ordered mesoporous carbons doped with boron, nitrogen or phosphorus as adsorbents for the purification of water contaminated with organophosphorus pesticides and their use in filters for the purification of water contaminated in this way is introduced.
